Top Ten Reasons To Become Involved in PTA SIG
August, 2003
Dear Colleague:
Welcome to the APTA and PPTA Chapter and thank you for your continued support of our professional association. My name is Ashlee Esplen, PTA, MS and I am the PA Physical Therapist Assistant Special Interest Group's (PTA SIG) Chair and Membership Chair. This letter is to inform you about the role of the PA PTA SIG and to encourage you to join the PTA SIG if you are not already a member.
Why become a member of the PTA SIG and get involved at the Chapter level? Well...
"The Top Ten Reasons Why You Should Get Involved"
10 Receive PA PTA SIG Newsletter updates in the PPTA Newsletter
9 Generate ideas for future PTA continuing education workshops
8 Eligible to run for any PTA SIG office - Develop your leadership skills
7 Decide the future direction of your profession by having a VOTE
6 Nominate PTA's for the PA RBNA Representative
5 Be a voice for PTA's in PA
4 Express your concerns or suggestions to the National Assembly
3 Represent the PTA within the PPTA at our annual PTA SIG meeting at the PA Annual State Conference
2 Support your profession and help move PTA's forward during these changing times
1 It is FREE
To become a member of the PA PTA SIG you must compete the enclosed application and send it to the PPTA. Being a Chapter and APTA member does not automatically make you an PTA SIG member.
Take time to get involved in your profession! If we do not set the direction for our profession, the course will be decided for us by others. Please join me and so many others in changing our course!
Sincerely,
Ashlee Esplen, PTA, MS, CMT
