This website was designed for the purpose of enhancing the delivery of information regarding the organizational makeup, scheduled activities and current concerns of the Southeastern District of the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association. Our goal is to provide an interactive resource to the membership, that encourages communication and professional development. If you have any comments or suggestions for ways in which these pages might better meet the needs of the District, please contact us. The functions of the district are (1) to cooperate with the Association and Chapter in fostering development and improvement of physical therapy services and education; (2) to promote legislation to protect and promote the interests of the public and the rights of Association members; (3) to represent physical therapy before governmental, other professional and voluntary groups and agencies, and the public; (4) to encourage research, foster contributions to the professional literature and promote the development of new knowledge and use of evidenced based practice; (5) to promote and protect the professional status and the economic and general welfare of Association members; (6) to provide for the dissemination and exchange of information related to physical therapy. Please note that the Central District meeting schedule of SED has changed! We are posting the dates of the meetings in the newsletters and will send out a reminder, but we are NOT meeting on the second Wednesday of the month-every month- as we did last year. We have been gathering feedback from various clinicians and students and have changed the meetings to be better coordinated with the sub-districts, to be better coordinated with PPTA/APTA functions, and to be better coordinated with people's busy schedules. |
