CORE PURPOSE

To represent, advocate and advance the practice of physical therapy in the commonwealth.


ENVISIONED FUTURE

By 2020 The physical therapy profession will have unrestricted direct access to health care consumers and be recognized in the commwealth as providers of choice and leaders in prevention of impairment, wellness and restorative care of neuromusculoskeletal systems.

2010 GOALS
(not in priority order)

I. Promote professionalism through competent, evidence-based practice and ethical behaviors.

II. Proactively advocate for practice autonomy, unrestricted access to care by the public, and reimbursement/payment for professional services using all payment mechanisms in all practice environments.

III. Develop an understanding of autonomous practice among members, consumers and payers.

IV. Instill the value of belonging to the PPTA to current and future members.
